What is Died in Cascadia?

Are you a lesbian or perhaps even gender-queer? Are you from the pacific northwest? Are you interested in the study of cryptids and other spectral creatures? Or maybe you just want to abandon your 9 to 5 life and return to the earth’s laurel pines and silt? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then my blog will hopefully resonate with you. Died in Cascadia is a love letter to the PNW for all its haunting beauty. Please feel free to look around and get lost in the forest. Don’t worry if you get the feeling that something is lurking behind the walls of text, or if you see a pair of eyes glowing through the shrubs, it’s normal!

Internet Manifesto: The internet used to be a much more vast wilderness (see what I did there lol) before the tech giants hegemonized it. Now your whole use of the internet is centered around only a couple basic sites. Humans were not made to spend such large portions of our lives on just four platforms. I was inspired by the indieweb movement to create this site as a protest of passive internet use and social media, and also to encourage the democratization of the internet. This website is not meant for anyone's evalution, God knows we get of that through our 9-5 jobs and social media accounts. Died in Cascadia is purely a stream of consciousness. However there is an underlying theme here of DIY corporate rejectionism, and most importantly: the love of nature.
